Doemens has been organizing Italian language beer sommelier training courses in cooperation with their partner Stefan Grauvogl, Arte-Bier owner, for the past 15 years. As master brewer and beer sommelier, the German/Italian and Munich native recognized early on that such a course had potential. He developed a tailor-made training course in cooperation with Doemens.
The first beer sommelier course specifically tailored to the Italian market took place in 2009, one week at Doemens in Gräfelfing near Munich and one week at Arte-Bier in Santarcangelo di Romagna near Rimini. In March of this year, Doemens held its 20th course of this kind, bringing the number of Italian beer sommeliers who have now been trained to over 300!
