Argentina: McDonald’s and Zuccardi Bring Wine Back to Fast Food

The official launch took place last week between McDonald’s and Bodega Santa Julia, who jointly relaunched the “Flavors of Mendoza” menu.

The initiative, which began in 2003 as a tribute to the National Grape Harvest Festival, returns for a limited time with a menu designed to connect global fast food with a local identity.

“McDonald’s Flavors of Mendoza returns for a limited time to celebrate the Grape Harvest tradition with an exclusive menu that combines the best of local cuisine and the unique taste of McDonald’s,” was the message accompanying this new opportunity.

The Argentine winery selected Tintillo wine from Bodega Santa Julia (Zuccardi Group) as its most suitable product for this occasion, a 269 ml can of Malbec-Bonarda, a brand closely associated with the Mendoza Grape Harvest Festival.

In a context where wine consumption is declining in volume, but the search for convenient formats and new consumption occasions is growing, this type of alliance between wineries and fast food will serve as a laboratory for observing future habits.
