The advanced ozone mixing system is designed to improve the removal of micropollutants from wastewater, supporting growing regulatory requirements under the revised EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive. The technology enables more efficient ozone transfer and lower energy consumption compared with conventional ozonation systems, while also reducing installation footprint and capital expenditure.
Under the partnership, Air Liquide will remain the patent holder of the OSW technology, while Nijhuis Saur Industries will act as production and system integration partner for the targeted markets.
According to the companies, the collaboration aims to support municipalities and industrial customers in meeting increasingly stringent wastewater treatment and water reuse standards.
