Brazil: Most customers are looking for vitamin-rich sports drinks

The new market survey by Grupo Petrópolis, commissioned by TNT Sport Drink, revealed that Brazilians are increasingly paying attention to the functional benefits of sports drinks. The presence of vitamins (88%), flavor (87%), and minerals (86%) are the factors consumers consider most important when choosing this type of beverage. Furthermore, nutritional aspects such as low sugar content (78%) and low calories (75%) also significantly influence purchasing decisions.

The survey, which interviewed more than 300 people in São Paulo, with a balanced participation rate between men and women, also revealed that exercise is the main occasion for consuming sports drinks: 45% of respondents consume the product after exercising, 38% during, and 30% before.

Furthermore, according to the survey, 72% of respondents associate sports drink consumption with weekend soccer, surpassing other activities such as weight training (69%) and street running (67%). Cycling (59%), volleyball (58%), CrossFit (55%), basketball (52%), wrestling, and swimming (both 51%). Among the most consumed flavors, orange leads with 54%, followed by grape (50%), lemon (47%), passion fruit (45%), and tangerine (42%).
