Brazil: The beer industry grows by 5.5%

According to the new annual report from the National Union of the Beer Industry (Sindicerv), there are currently 1,950 registered breweries operating in 790 municipalities in Brazil. This means that the number of registered establishments increased by 5.5% compared to the previous year, when there were 1,848 breweries.

However, despite the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, the country recorded a production of 15.3 billion liters of beer, compared to 15.32 billion liters the previous year, a minimal difference.

Among the highlights of the Annual Report is the significant growth of non-alcoholic beers, whose production increased by 530% compared to 2023. “The evolution of 0.0% beer reinforces our commitment to diverse options and increasingly balanced and conscious consumption,” said Márcio Maciel, CEO of Sindicerv.
