Mexico: Beer Exports Decline After Five Years

The Agricultural Market Consultants Group (GCMA) states that after the record set in 2024, changes in beer consumption patterns in the United States contributed to the loss of momentum.

Mexican beer exports registered a year-over-year drop of 3.5 % between January and July of 2025, at a value of €4 billion. This is their first negative result compared to a similar period since 2020, when the decrease was 18 %, according to statistics from the Bank of Mexico.

The closest drop in the value of these shipments was recorded in 2010, with a drop of 1.7 %. In 2008, there was another drop of 2.3 %. This decline, after a record year in 2024, is attributed to lower external demand and possible adjustments in international prices.

According to GCMA data, export volumes between January and July 2025 totaled 2.6 billion liters, representing a 4 % decrease compared to the 2.7 billion liters exported during the same period in 2024.
