Mexico: Heineken announces major investment in Yucatán

The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Economy, confirmed that as part of Plan Mexico, Heineken will invest €2.4 billion through 2028 to build a new brewery in Kanasín, Yucatán.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that the announcement reflects growing confidence in the country and reinforces the trend of continued foreign investment.

Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon stated that the project is part of the Plan Mexico Investment Portfolio and will strengthen the Yucatán region, highlighting its abundant water resources as a key factor.

Oriol Bonaclocha, CEO of Heineken Mexico, said the investment will create 300 direct jobs, 2,500 indirect jobs, and approximately 2,000 temporary jobs during construction. Heineken reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the country.
