South America: Coca-Cola Femsa reports second-quarter performance

Among the relevant data for the second quarter, Coca-Cola Femsa reported a 5.5 percent decrease in volume, 2.4 percent revenue growth, stable operating income, and a 5.3 percent decrease in net income.

Regarding relevant data for the first six months of the year, the company indicated that it also suffered a 3.9 percent decrease in volume; 5.4 percent revenue growth; Operating income grew by 0.7 percent and net income decreased by 1.4 percent.

Ian Craig, CEO of Coca-Cola Femsa, stated: “During the second quarter, we navigated a challenging environment, marked by a slowdown in Mexico and adverse weather conditions in both Mexico and Brazil. However, despite a more difficult-than-expected first half of the year, we are encouraged by improvements in our competitive position and maintain our long-term outlook unchanged. In the second half of the year, we will make some adjustments to our plans to generate future value”.
