United States: Spirits exports hit a new record

According to the new Spirits Exports report released by the Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS), US spirits exports will increase by nearly 10% in 2024, reaching a record € 2.1 billion.

Exports to the EU increased by 39% last year, while exports to the rest of the worlddecreased by nearly 10%. The EU was the largest market for US spirits exports, totaling € 1 billion. The EU's recent decision not to apply a retaliatory tariff on US whiskey and other spiritsis a positive first step toward returning the US-EU spirits sectors to zero tariffs betweenthe two markets. The other major markets for US spirits are Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Mexico. The main exporting states were Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Florida, and Indiana; Illinois, California, Arkansas, Maine, and New York.
