Brazil: Production of alcoholic beverages increases again

According to data published by the National Statistics Institute (IBGE), the production of alcoholic beverages in Brazil continues to grow. For the eighth consecutive month, activity registered an increase of 4.6 percent in February compared to the same period of the previous year.

With this performance, the production of alcoholic beverages in Brazil closed the first two months of this year at 6.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023, while, in the 12 months, the expansion was 0.4 percent. The report also indicates that the 8.3 percent growth in alcoholic beverage production in February contributed to this new increase in monthly sales. However, the pace of this activity decreased slightly by 0.1% compared to the month of January. However, the largest increase in the month of February was generated by non-alcoholic beverages, with a growth of 10.4 percent, while, in the first two months of 2024, it increased by 10.8 percent and 2.6 percent in the last 12 months.
