In a currently released statement , Brown-Forman acknowledged that it routinely evaluates strategic opportunities and confirmed that dialogue with Pernod Ricard is currently underway.
The company indicated that, if an agreement were to be reached and approved by relevant authorities, the transaction would likely take the form of a “merger of equals.” Such a structure would combine the expertise, talent, and heritage of both organizations while aiming to deliver long-term value to shareholders.
Brown-Forman highlighted that potential synergies from the proposed combination could be substantial. The merged entity would benefit from increased global scale, a strengthened portfolio of premium brands, and a more balanced geographic presence, supported by the legacy of two longstanding family influences in the spirits industry.
However, the company emphasized that discussions remain preliminary. No terms have been agreed upon, and there is no certainty that a transaction will ultimately materialize. Brown-Forman stated it does not intend to provide further updates unless a definitive agreement is reached.
