Chile: Sharp Drop in Bottled Wine Exports

According to official data from Wines of Chile, the country exported 2.5 million cases of wine in March, representing a 14.3% drop in volume and a 23.1% drop in value compared to the same month last year.

The total amount reached € 56 million, with an average price of € 23 per case (-10.3%).
The contraction affected most major markets. Brazil, the largest buyer of Chilean bottled wine, reduced its purchases by 10% in volume and 18% in value. Exports to the US (-19% in volume; -25% in value) and China (-39% in volume; -48% in value) also fell.
However, the report confirmed an increase in exports to lower-value markets such as Mexico, Colombia, and South Korea.
Exports in the first two months of the year reached 6.7 million cases, just 0.8% less than in the same period in 2024. However, in terms of value, the decline was more noticeable: -6.6%, with a total of €157 million, and the average price fell to €23.4 per case (-5.8%).
