At its Karaman site, Döhler is increasing capacity across several existing production lines and adding technologies for further colour formats. Production capacity for black carrot and beetroot will rise considerably, and the site’s liquid colour capabilities are being strengthened. Resin columns and a new evaporator will additionally expand capacity for anthocyanin- and betanin-based colour solutions.
For powder applications, new spray dryer technology will significantly increase colour powder output. A new jet mill will expand micronisation capacity for applications where fine particle size and consistent dispersion matter. Further additions include a roasting unit for natural brown colourants and a ball mill for the production of colour suspensions. The investments are being implemented in phases throughout 2026, with the overall expansion targeted for completion by the end of the year.
In the State of Mexico, Döhler is continuing to develop its new production site in the Arco 57 Industrial Park in San Francisco Soyaniquilpan de Juárez. The first phase opened in July 2026 as a regional hub for science, technology and the production of natural ingredients and integrated solutions. Plans for dedicated natural colour production facilities are now progressing as part of the next expansion phase.
Bringing production and technical expertise closer to customers in Mexico, Latin America and North America is intended to shorten response and delivery times, make logistics more efficient and enable solutions tailored to regional needs. Local raw-material sourcing and regional supply-chain development will further support this.
“Colour plays an essential role in the sensory experience of food and beverages, but our customers need more than a broad portfolio,” said Jakob Schjoerring-Thyssen, Global Head of Business Unit Colours at Döhler. “They need solutions that can be developed efficiently, produced reliably and scaled across markets. By expanding our capabilities in Türkiye and Mexico, we are bringing additional capacity, technology and production expertise closer to our customers and creating an even stronger platform for future colour innovation.”
Together, the investments allow Döhler to serve a broad spectrum of requirements, from liquid and powder colours to suspensions and micronised solutions, while addressing different application, market and supply-chain needs.
