The award recognises pioneering technological innovations that enhance sustainability, process efficiency, quality and food safety. Gold and Silver medals will be presented during Anuga FoodTec 2027 in Cologne, one of the world’s leading supplier trade fairs for the food and beverage industry.
Eligible submissions include innovations in process technology, filling and packaging systems, packaging materials, automation, robotics and measurement and control technology. Solutions in intralogistics, food safety and analytics, refrigeration and air conditioning, environmental technology, alternative protein processing, biotechnology and novel ingredients are also encouraged.
Gold medals are awarded to products featuring a fundamentally new concept that significantly alters function and enables new or substantially improved processes. Silver medals recognise advanced developments of existing products that deliver measurable functional or process improvements.
Winners are selected by an international jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Katharina Riehn of HAW Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. The panel comprises 19 experts from nine countries, representing academia and applied research across key disciplines in food technology.
The International FoodTec Award is organised by DLG in cooperation with Koelnmesse, the organiser of Anuga FoodTec, and supported by leading industry media partners.
