Germany: MEBAK meeting focuses on analytical methods and harmonisation

MEBAK e.V. held its 106th meeting on April 9–10, 2026, at Hochschule Geisenheim University, bringing together experts from academia and industry to discuss current developments in brewing and beverage analysis.

The conference focused on analytical quality assurance, harmonisation of testing methods and new methodological approaches, including developments in NDMA analysis and sensory testing procedures. Participants also toured the university’s laboratories and technical centre, gaining insights into modern analytical and sensory technologies.

MEBAK also reported ongoing progress across its working groups, with several new methods in the area of containers and product packaging expected to be published soon.

During the meeting, Florian Heukäufer and Dr. Jennifer Schneiderbanger were unanimously admitted as new members of the organisation. The next MEBAK meeting is scheduled to take place in Erding later this year.
