Its investment plan will seek to increase while reduce water consumption in its production. Grupo Modelo mentioned that investment in technology has helped it reduce its use of this resource by 30 percent.
It will also promote the circular economy, primarily through returnable packaging and glass recycling programs.
Daniel Cocenzo, President of Grupo Modelo, commented that the company's business is local, so almost 100% of its Mexican production is sold within the country. Furthermore, 70 % of the inputs used for production are now sourced locally.
Grupo Modelo has digitalized its operations through Bees, its digital sales platform, which currently represents 96% of its beer sales in Mexico.
