With these results, Spain ranks seventh among the countries with the highest number of awards this year, moving up two positions compared with the previous edition. Participation from Spain in the WorldStar Awards is channelled through the national Liderpack Awards, organised by Graphispack Association in collaboration with the Hispack trade fair at Fira de Barcelona.
In the overall ranking, Japan placed first with 24 awards, followed by Austria (21), Germany and China (18 each), Brazil (17), Czech Republic–Slovakia (12, joint submission) and Australia–New Zealand (11). Spain’s ten awards were followed by Hungary (9), Lebanon and the United States (8 each), as well as South Korea and India (7 each).
The Spanish award-winning projects span categories including food, fresh fruit and vegetables, alcoholic beverages, electronics, transport and e-commerce. Common themes among the winning entries include material efficiency, recyclability, functional design and logistics optimisation.
DS Smith received four awards for packaging solutions focused on product protection and transport efficiency. Among these was the Box Pallet solution, recognised in the transport and e-commerce categories for its foldable, recyclable design and high load capacity. Additional awards went to mono-material corrugated cardboard packaging for automotive components and a reinforced, foldable solution for heavy industrial parts.
In the food category, Grupo Lantero was awarded for ReKeepEat, a mono-material PET tray and lid designed to simplify recycling and reduce material consumption.
Two Spanish projects were recognised in the alcoholic beverages category.
