Germany: Anheuser-Busch Bud Returns to Germany to Celebrate Its 150th Anniversary

Nearly 150 years after its creation in the United States, Anheuser-Busch Bud is making a comeback in Germany. AB InBev announced the relaunch of the iconic lager as a tribute to its origins: German-born brewers Eberhard Anheuser and Adolphus Busch first brewed their now-legendary beer in St. Louis in 1876.

The return of Bud comes at a time when international lagers are among the fastest-growing beer segments in Germany. As consumers increasingly embrace modern, globally recognized brands, Bud aims to meet this demand with its signature smooth, refreshing taste.

To celebrate the relaunch, AB InBev is partnering with the National Football League (NFL). During the NFL Berlin Game on November 9, 2025, at the Olympic Stadium, fans can look forward to fresh Bud on tap and unique brand experiences throughout the event. “As we prepare to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the iconic lager brewed by Eberhard Anheuser and Adolphus Busch, we’re proud to bring the brand back to its German roots,” said Arnaud Hanset, President of the Business Unit Central Europe at AB InBev. “Bud has always been about bringing people together and creating moments of celebration – and what better moment than the NFL game in Berlin?”

Alexander Steinforth, Managing Director of NFL Germany, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Bud back to Germany and to celebrate together during the upcoming game in Berlin. This event marks another exciting chapter in the long-standing partnership between AB InBev and the NFL.”

With Bud’s return, AB InBev reaffirms its commitment to the German market, investing in growth and innovation.
