Argentina: Alcoholic beverage sales decline in supermarkets

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), accumulated sales of alcoholic beverages in supermarkets through October 2025 fell by 3 % compared to the same period in 2024. Beverages represent 11 % of total supermarket sales.

However, the two main companies in the beer market, AB InBev, owner of Quilmes, and the Chilean company CCU, which produces brands such as Heineken, Schneider, and Miller, agreed that an improvement in sales was observed in January 2026. They also indicated that the World Cup could boost consumption during the off-season. In that context, they highlighted the sustained growth of non-alcoholic beers. In the non-alcoholic beverage segment, soft drinks and flavored waters grew in 2025 compared to 2024, although they remained below 2023 levels.
