According to EcoVadis, the improved rating reflects progress in several areas, including more efficient resource use and waste reduction, strengthened ethics and compliance measures supported by external audits, enhanced supply chain risk management, and expanded supplier oversight through additional on-site visits.
In 2025, GNT also formally committed to the United Nations Global Compact, aligning its business strategy with internationally recognised principles on human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
The company states that these measures contribute to greater supply chain resilience, a reduced environmental footprint and increased transparency for customers.
Rutger de Kort, Sustainability Manager at GNT Group, said the Platinum rating reflects continuous improvement in sustainability management, including the development of policies, procedures, performance indicators and risk assessment processes.
GNT produces EXBERRY® colors from non-GMO fruits, vegetables and plants. The company has set sustainability targets that include reducing carbon intensity at its production sites and providing sustainability training for contract farmers. Its supply chain management approach also enables the provision of Product Environmental Footprint data for most products in the EXBERRY® range.
