Argentina: Consumption of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages falls again

According to the study by the National Institute of Statistics (Indec) of the food industry, the production of soft drinks, waters, sodas, beers, diluted juices, ciders and spirits showed a joint year-on-year decrease of 27 percent.

The lower productive activity was caused by a drop in domestic demand. In this sense, according to data from the Argentine Chamber of the Non-Alcoholic Beverage Industry (CADIBSA), they also confirmed that in the reference month a negative interannual variation of 19 percent was observed in terms of sales volume of soft drinks, waters with and still, flavored waters, juices, isotonic and energy drinks. Likewise, according to data from the Argentine Federation of Distillates and Aperitifs (FADA), a reduction is observed in the volume of production of spirits, mainly due to the decrease in the production of bitters, bitters and Fernet, aperitifs and vermouth.
