Argentina: Non-alcoholic beer consumption grows steadily

While this segment still represents a small portion of the total market, its rapid expansion has reached approximately 1.3% of the total volume, with significant growth potential compared to markets like Canada or the United States, where the market share is already approaching double digits.

In Argentina, non-alcoholic beer has begun to consolidate itself as one of the most dynamic segments within the national beer market. Driven by cultural changes and strong investment from large companies, this category shows growth rates that far exceed those of traditional beer and aligns with a global trend.

Quilmes Brewery and Malting Company, one of the leading companies in the local market, highlighted that the growth is due to a shift in consumption patterns, as the non-alcoholic beer segment is growing at a rate of nearly 60% annually. According to an internal company survey, six out of ten Argentinians who drink beer have already tried a non-alcoholic version, a figure that underscores the rapid growth of this segment. Quilmes, a pioneer in the local development of non-alcoholic beers, now offers alternatives such as Quilmes 0.0, Stella Artois Non-Alcoholic, and Corona Cero, supported by production investments and high-impact marketing campaigns.

It's worth noting that two years ago, the company invested €2.5 million to establish its first dealcoholization plant in the country, a key step in developing new varieties and ensuring taste and quality standards comparable to those of traditional beer.
