Brazil: Beer price rises 0.44% and repeats IPCA rhythm in May

According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (IBGE), in the last 12 months, beer inflation reached 9.4%.

The price of beer registered an average increase of 0.44% in May, maintaining the upward trend in the year, in addition to having a rhythm similar to that of official inflation. The monthly variation of 0.44% was generated in supermarkets and stores, while the cost of this drink in bars and restaurants had an average increase of 0.36%.

In this scenario, in the year, the value of beer purchased in establishments such as supermarkets increased 2.17% and rose 2.20% in establishments such as bars and restaurants. Already in the pile of the last 12 months, the drink adds expressive maximums of 9.38% and 5.22% in the same times of acquisition, respectively.
