The Heineken Group's beer sales recorded growth in general and in the Americas as well, however, the latter represents the region with the highest volumes of beer sold, reaching 21.4 million hectoliters and the expansion was 5 percent. The premium beer segment recorded 7.3 percent growth in the first quarter, and the Heineken brand grew even more, with an increase of 13 percent, with 13.8 million hectoliters. While this expansion was particularly strong in Asia Pacific, the report confirms an increase in the Americas of 10.6 percent. As for Latin America, Brazil once again stood out in the group's financial results, where the Heineken brand became the leading beer in the country, and sales recorded a 10 percent growth. Among the causes that drove this expansion are Carnival and Holy Week in the first quarter.
