Brazil: The brewing industry unites to strengthen the sector

The Brazilian brewing sector promotes one of the most important production chains in the country, responsible for 2% of GDP, generating more than 2 million direct and indirect jobs.

There are more than 1,600 breweries that make up this productive sector that contributes to the economic and social development of Brazil. To further strengthen this industry, the National Union of the Beer Industry – Sindicerv, and Abracerva – Brazilian Association of Craft Beer, signed a Cooperation Agreement during the opening of the “Beer is Gastronomy” Congress, held on June in São Paulo.

The agreement provides for the association and cooperation between the entities in favor of the main issues of interest to the beer industry, such as the improvement of quality in manufacturing, education and beer culture, free competition, sustainability and responsible consumption in the country. “The rapprochement with Abracerva is a first step towards building a common agenda. We can work together on many issues, from holding events to issues related to legislation and taxes”, stated the president of Sindicerv.
