This liquor made from sugar cane juice is experiencing a significant increase in exports. In 2023, Brazilian Cachaça exports increased by 17 percent in volume and 22 percent in value, reaching 9.2 million liters and generating revenues of approximately €16 million.
This growth has been supported by a series of marketing initiatives to promote the drink in key markets, such as the United States, Germany and Portugal. Cachaça producing companies are adopting new strategies to capture the attention of international consumers. Brands such as Ypióca and Cachaça 51 are launching premium products with limited editions, highlighting unique aspects of their production and aging processes in wooden barrels.
These efforts seek to differentiate Cachaça from other distillates and position it as a sophisticated and versatile option in the international market. However, the support of the Brazilian government and organizations dedicated to the promotion of Cachaça has been fundamental for this growth.
