Canada: CCL Industries to Acquire Sleever International

CCL Industries Inc. has signed a binding option agreement to acquire Sleever International Company SAS, a family-owned specialist in shrink sleeve technologies, application equipment and premium decorating services for consumer packaged goods and healthcare markets.

Sleever, headquartered near Paris, operates 11 manufacturing sites across Europe, North America, Asia and Brazil. The company generated approximately $213 million in sales in 2025, with an estimated adjusted EBITDA margin of 11.1%. The transaction is expected to close by mid-2026, subject to required procedures.

The acquisition will expand CCL’s sleeve decoration and sustainable packaging capabilities, combining both companies’ product lines into a platform with around $700 million in 2025 sales. CCL said the deal will strengthen its global manufacturing network, broaden sustainable sleeve solutions and accelerate innovation for brand owners seeking more environmentally responsible packaging.

Guenther Birkner President, Food & Beverage, Healthcare & Specialty and Innovia stated: „The acquisition combines our respective sleeve product lines and brings together two innovation‑driven organizations with complementary strengths in premium labeling and decoration technologies. Shrink sleeves—one of the fastest‑growing decoration technologies—play a critical role in helping brands improve shelf impact, enhance consumer engagement, and meet evolving sustainability commitments“.

CCL will also welcome Sleever’s 910 employees, while principal shareholder Eric Fresnel will remain involved in an advisory role during the transition.
