Chile: Wine exports fall by 9% in the first nine months

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, total wine exports in August reached 50 million liters, valued at €105 million, representing a decrease of 34% in volume and 18% in value compared to August 2024.

Of the total exported, 30 million liters corresponded to wine with a protected designation of origin (PDO), valued at €86 million, implying a decrease of 9.2% in volume and 8.9% in value compared to the same month of the previous year, and a decrease of 23% in volume.

The average price for this category in August 2025 was € 2.8 per liter. Regarding bulk wine, 16 million liters were exported for a total of €12 million, registering a decrease of 57% in volume and 49% in value compared to August 2024.

Wine exports from January to August 2025 totaled 465 million liters and €875 million, representing a decrease of 9% in volume and 3.5% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.

During this period, wine with a designation of origin grew by 0.6% in volume and 0.8% in value compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 250 million liters and €690 million. The main destination countries during this period were Brazil, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom.
