More than 3,300 companies are expected to exhibit, including nearly 1,000 international firms from over 70 countries, with strong representation from Europe, Asia and Latin America. Around 1,000 foreign companies have already confirmed their attendance, representing more than 30% of all exhibitors and an 11% increase from 2024. Italy once again leads international participation, followed by Poland, China, Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, France, the Netherlands and Greece. The United States will also expand its presence.
According to J. Antonio Valls, managing director of Alimentaria Exhibitions, this growth reinforces the platform’s role as a global reference point that attracts leading producers and exporters and drives new business opportunities across the food industry. The event expects more than 110,000 professional visitors, 25% from abroad, and will host over 1,500 international buyers through its extensive hosted buyer programme organised in collaboration with ICEX. These decision-makers — importers, distributors and purchasing directors — will hold more than 14,000 pre-scheduled meetings with exhibitors. Confirmed participants include KeHE (USA), BidFood (Asia), Bergfood (Netherlands), Pan Emirates (UAE), and Cotswold Fayre (UK), as well as leading retail groups such as Walmart, PriceSmart, La Comer, Sonae, GPA, Big Basket, Alkosto, Marks & Spencer and Coto.
Poland will participate as Guest Country with more than 100 exhibitors and 1,200 m² of exhibition space, highlighting the strength and diversification of its agri-food sector. In 2024, the country achieved record agri-food exports of €53.5 million, 72% destined for the EU.
Organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Fira de Barcelona company, Alimentaria+Hostelco is one of the world’s leading platforms for the food, beverage, foodservice and hospitality equipment sectors. The 2024 edition brought together more than 3,200 exhibitors from over 100,000 m² of exhibition space.
