USA: Yakima Chief Hops Deepens Collaboration with IGN Quality Hops to Strengthen German Hop Supply

Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) is expanding its long-standing partnership with IGN Quality Hops, an association of over 100 hop-growing families in Germany’s Hallertau region, to strengthen the supply and accessibility of German hop varieties.

The collaboration aims to improve global availability of IGN-grown hops through YCH’s distribution network, supporting consistent supply for brewers while maintaining flexibility in sourcing.

The portfolio includes key German varieties such as Herkules, Hallertauer Magnum, Mittelfrüh, Tettnanger, Tradition, Saphir, Perle, Spalter Select, Callista, and Mandarina Bavaria, widely used in lager and pilsner production.

“Our collaboration with IGN reflects a shared commitment to quality and connecting growers and brewers,” said Bryan Pierce, Chief Customer Strategy Officer at YCH. “We’re expanding access to German hop varieties while supporting family farms and delivering long-term value across the supply chain.”

IGN Managing Director Mario Scholz added that the partnership strengthens global reach for Hallertau growers and improves access for brewers worldwide.
