Brazil: Beverage sales during Carnival grew by 14%

According to a study conducted by the market research agency Confi, the leading intelligence ecosystem for the Brazilian retail sector, beverage sales in e-commerce during Carnival increased by 14% compared to the previous year.

Based on tracking actual e-commerce transactions, the results indicate that the volume of orders rose from 134,000 to 164,000, with the average price per product increasing from €3.20 to €3.80. On the other hand, the average order value (an indicator representing the average amount spent per customer on each completed order) showed a slight decrease, from €32 last year to €29 this year.

Regarding the type of beverage, there was a reversal in consumption leadership: in 2025, wine held first place, but in 2026 it was beer.

According to the study, 2026 showed a strengthening of new categories such as coffee and whiskey, while the analysis of 2025 data showed that non-alcoholic combos and kits had a more significant presence in the ranking.

This variation suggests that this year, consumption during Carnival was more focused on individual and Ready-to-Drink beverages.
