Niewodniczanski, a shareholder and member of the management board of Th. Simon GmbH & Co. KG and other companies in the brewery group, is stepping down from his operational duties on September 30, 2025, after many years of successful service, partly due to differences of opinion regarding the strategic direction of the brewery group. He will continue to contribute his valuable expertise from decades of experience, particularly in the brewing business, in his future role as an active shareholder in the Bitburger Group, the announcement continues.
The shareholder family deeply regrets Niewodniczanski's departure from operational activities, but at the same time welcomes his future focus on his role as an active shareholder and his willingness to serve on supervisory and/or advisory boards of the Bitburger Group in the future.
Since 2006, the trained brewing engineer has been responsible for technology and the environment in the family business and, as a passionate brewer, has been committed to quality and innovation.
"With his outstanding technological skills and his special expertise in environmental and sustainability issues, Jan Niewodniczanski has contributed significantly to the success of the company. It is thanks to him that the brewery group is technologically and sustainably positioned for the future. We would like to thank him sincerely for his outstanding commitment," said Dr. Joachim Peters, Deputy Chairman of the Bitburger Group's Shareholders' Committee and representative of the seventh generation of shareholders of the family business on the supervisory boards of the Bitburger Group.
"I am grateful that, with an outstanding team at my side, we have succeeded in raising the brewing group's technology to a level that is recognized throughout the industry. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all employees for their loyal support, their trust, and their friendly cooperation. As a seventh-generation shareholder, I will continue to be closely involved in the company's activities and see my departure from the operational side of the business as an opportunity and a chance to continue to make my expertise as a shareholder available to the family business in the future," said Niewodniczanski.
