According to KHS, the new facility will cover approximately 80 percent of the site’s energy demand and reduce indirect CO₂ emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2) by up to 1,000 tonnes per year. The company plans to further expand the system by 2028, aiming to achieve full energy self-sufficiency at the site.
The investment forms part of KHS’s broader sustainability strategy, which targets net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and a 36 percent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2028. The Ahmedabad plant, one of KHS’s key international production hubs, also serves as a model for resource efficiency through comprehensive energy and water management programmes.
