Refresco announced the closure of its Industry Drive distribution center in April, a move expected to eliminate 63 jobs. In a letter received July 14 by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the company said the site will continue operating — as a warehousing and shipping facility rather than a manufacturing plant.
"While Refresco ceased manufacturing operations at this Facility on or about June 24, 2026, Refresco decided that the Carlisle facility will transition to use as a distribution center for warehousing, storage, and shipment of products and the Facility will not be closing," wrote Mark Scott, Refresco's director of human resources for the northeast region, in the company's WARN notice. "A small team of employees will remain employed at the Facility."
Of the 63 employees originally set to lose their jobs, nine separated after the April announcement, 28 saw their employment end when manufacturing ceased, six will separate by the end of July, and one will separate later this year. Seven employees were offered positions at other Refresco locations.
The Carlisle plant had bottled soft drinks, water, fruit juices, and teas, handling manufacturing, quality control, warehousing, and distribution. Refresco, headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands, employs about 13,000 people across 70 production sites in 12 countries. Carlisle was the only facility slated for closure in April.
